David H. Samson Canadian Scholarship

The David H. Samson Canadian Scholarship is awarded by the AIST Foundation to recognize one Canadian student pursuing a career in the steel or iron industry. The $3,000 scholarship is paired with a required paid summer internship at a North American steel company. It honors David H. Samson's contributions to the steel industry and his commitment to the next generation of professionals. Applications are accepted on an annual cycle.

Open to Canadian citizens enrolled full-time in a four-year undergraduate or graduate engineering or related technical program at a North American university. Applicants must demonstrate commitment to the steel industry.

Applicants must commit to completing a paid summer internship at a North American steel-producing or steel-related company prior to receiving the scholarship. The application is submitted through the AIST Foundation portal. Letters of recommendation and transcripts are required.
