The William F. Miller MD Postgraduate Education Recognition Award provides up to $5,000 to respiratory therapists pursuing advanced degrees, along with a certificate of recognition, coach airfare, one night's lodging, and registration to the AARC Congress. The award honors Dr. William F. Miller, a pioneer in respiratory care, and is administered by the American Respiratory Care Foundation. It recognizes therapists committed to advancing their education and leadership in the field.
Applicants must be respiratory therapists with at least a baccalaureate degree and a minimum 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale (or if no baccalaureate degree, a letter of matriculation from a graduate program and undergraduate transcript will suffice), and must have been accepted into an advanced degree program at a fully accredited school.
Submit an application, proof of acceptance into an advanced degree program, a letter of recommendation from the program director or other senior faculty member, two letters of recommendation from the medical director or other physician instructor, and an essay of at least 1,200 words describing how the award will assist in reaching degree objectives and leadership goals in healthcare.
