The Lewis C. Hoffman Scholarship awards a $2,000 tuition grant to encourage academic interest and excellence in ceramics and materials science among undergraduate students. The scholarship is presented by The American Ceramic Society's Electronics Division at the division's business meeting in October. Applicants write an essay on a ceramics topic relevant to electronics applications.
Open to junior or senior undergraduate students who have completed at least 80 semester credits (or equivalent) in ceramics, materials science, or engineering and are still enrolled full-time at the time of the award in October.
Submit a completed nomination form, a 500-word essay on the designated topic, and one letter of recommendation electronically by May 15.
