The NBCUniversal Tony Coelho Media Scholarship awards up to $5,625 each to eight students with disabilities who are passionate about advancing disability representation in media and entertainment. Named for former Congressman Tony Coelho, the chief sponsor of the Americans with Disabilities Act, the scholarship is a partnership between NBCUniversal and AAPD. Applications open March 1 each year.
Open to high school seniors, undergraduate, and graduate students with disabilities who are pursuing careers in media, communications, or entertainment industries and will be enrolled in college or university during Fall 2026.
Submit an application through AAPD demonstrating passion for increasing disability representation in media, communications, or entertainment industries. Eight scholarships are awarded annually.
