About

The NBCUniversal Tony Coelho Media Scholarship awards up to $5,625 each to eight students with disabilities who are passionate about advancing disability representation in media and entertainment. Named for former Congressman Tony Coelho, the chief sponsor of the Americans with Disabilities Act, the scholarship is a partnership between NBCUniversal and AAPD. Applications open March 1 each year.

Eligibility

Open to students with any disability who are second-year associate degree students, undergraduate sophomores, juniors, or seniors, or graduate students pursuing degrees in communications, entertainment, or other media-related fields.

Requirements

Submit an application through AAPD demonstrating passion for increasing disability representation in media, communications, or entertainment industries. Eight scholarships are awarded annually.
