The National Citizenship Award and Scholarship Program provides merit-based scholarships ($250 for Grade 8 and $1,000 for Grade 12) to Canadian students who demonstrate exemplary citizenship through community service, character, and leadership. The Foundation has supported close to 900 students. Named after Canadian hockey legend and civil rights advocate Dr. Herbert H. Carnegie.
Canadian citizens, permanent residents, landed immigrants, or refugees. Grade 8 applicants must be enrolled in Grade 8 as of January 1, 2026; Grade 12 applicants must be enrolled in Grade 12 as of January 1, 2026. Must demonstrate character & leadership, academic responsibility, and community service/volunteerism. Financial need is considered.
School nomination required (schools must participate in Future Aces programming, workshops, leadership events, or operate a Future Aces Club). Nominated students must complete application form and submit personal essay (250 words, written or 5-7 min audio/video) addressing the Future Aces Creed. Must provide reference letter from teacher, coach, or community organization representative (non-family member).
