The Gail Smyth Skills Ontario Scholarship awards $1,000 to Ontario students entering post-secondary education in the skilled trades and technologies who have demonstrated excellence at the Skills Ontario provincial competition.
Must be a Canadian citizen, landed immigrant, or Ontario resident. Must have earned high school credits during the current school year (September 2025 to June 2026) and will graduate in spring, summer, or fall 2026. Must have received a bronze, silver, or gold medal at the 2026 Skills Ontario provincial competition. Must be pursuing post-secondary education as an apprentice or through a post-secondary institution within Ontario.
Apply through the Skills Ontario website (skillsontario.com). Submit completed application form, two letters of reference from high school teachers, proof of volunteer work/community services, proof of competition result, academic transcripts, and proof of acceptance to a post-secondary program. Submit by postmark deadline: August 4, 2026 to Gael Loro at gloro@skillsontario.com
