About

Annual program awarding multiple scholarships and bursaries to Canadians who are blind, Deafblind, or have low vision. In a recent year, $220,900 was awarded to 56 recipients. Awards range from $500 to $8,000+.

Eligibility

Blind, Deafblind, or have low vision (best corrected visual acuity 20/70 or worse and/or visual field 20 degrees or narrower); pursuing post-secondary education; Canadian citizen or landed immigrant for at least one year.

Requirements

Apply online through the CNIB scholarship portal; applications open March 23, 2026; submit proof of vision loss, enrollment, and demonstrate personal achievement and independence.
