ASHRAE offers a comprehensive scholarship program supporting students in engineering and engineering technology fields related to HVAC&R. The Willis H. Carrier Scholarships are among the largest awards at $10,000 per year, with additional named scholarships ranging from $3,000 to $12,500. The program awards multiple scholarships annually to students who demonstrate academic excellence and interest in building systems and energy. Chapter-level ASHRAE scholarships with separate deadlines are also available.
Open to full-time undergraduate or graduate engineering students pursuing careers in HVAC&R (heating, ventilating, air conditioning, and refrigeration). Applicants must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 and be enrolled at an institution with an active ASHRAE student branch, ABET accreditation, or equivalent international accreditation.
Applications are submitted through the ASHRAE online portal by December 1 for undergraduate engineering scholarships. A separate May 1 deadline applies to freshman/high school senior scholarships. Required materials typically include transcripts, letters of recommendation, and a personal statement.
Most students miss 2659+ scholarships they actually qualify for — don't be one of them.
