The GBHEM General Scholarship provides financial assistance of $500-$2,000 to United Methodist students pursuing undergraduate and graduate degrees at accredited U.S. institutions. GBHEM awards approximately $4 million annually across all its scholarship programs. The scholarship reflects the United Methodist Church's commitment to higher education and ministry formation.
Applicants must be active, full members of The United Methodist Church for at least one year and enrolled full-time at an accredited U.S. institution. A minimum GPA of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale is required.
Eligible students must be incoming or current undergraduates or graduate students. The online application portal is open annually from January through early March.
