The Gates Cambridge Scholarship is a prestigious fully-funded award for outstanding postgraduate students from outside the UK to study at the University of Cambridge. Each scholarship covers full tuition, a living stipend of approximately £21,000 per year, travel costs, visa fees, health insurance, and academic development funding. Approximately 80 awards are made annually: about 25 through the U.S. round (deadline October) and 55 through the international round (deadline December/January).
Open to outstanding applicants from any country outside the United Kingdom who are applying to pursue a full-time postgraduate degree (PhD, MSc/MLitt, or one-year postgraduate course) at the University of Cambridge. There is no restriction on field of study.
Applicants must concurrently apply to the University of Cambridge through the standard admissions process. Selection is based on academic excellence, reasons for chosen course, commitment to improving others' lives, and capacity for leadership.
