Students run grassroots e-waste collection campaigns and compete for prizes based on equipment quantity/quality, marketing effectiveness, and execution. 10 awards total: 1st $10,000 + laptop + 3 laptops for charity; 2nd $5,000 + laptop + 3 laptops for charity; 3rd $3,000 + laptop + 3 laptops for charity; 4th-5th $1,000 each + laptop + 3 laptops for charity; 6th-10th laptop + 3 laptops for charity. Winners announced December 2026.
Open nationally in Canada. Full-time or part-time students residing in Canada. Students outside ERA's operating regions may face adjusted participation requirements.
Develop and execute a marketing campaign and organize an e-waste collection drive in your community. Collect eligible electronics (laptops, phones, tablets, etc. — no TVs or household appliances). Provide four weeks' advance notice for collection events. Tag social media posts with #ERAScholarship. Any social media accounts created specifically for the scholarship must be transferred to ERA upon completion of the competition; failure to provide account access will result in disqualification.
