ALA Century Scholarship

The ALA Century Scholarship awards $2,500 annually to one graduate student with a disability who is pursuing an MLS or MLIS degree at an ALA-accredited institution. The scholarship was established to ensure that library science careers remain accessible to individuals with disabilities. Applications are accepted each year from September 1 through March 1.

Applicants must be U.S. or Canadian citizens or permanent residents who are students with documented disabilities pursuing a graduate degree in library science at an ALA-accredited program. Financial need must also be demonstrated.

Medical documentation of the applicant's disability and required services or accommodations must be provided. Students who have already completed more than one-third of their program may still qualify under an exception for the Century Scholarship.
