The George and Emily Severinghaus Beck Education Abroad Scholarship supports Ohio State students studying Yiddish in the United States and abroad. Up to two students per year receive funding of up to $2,000 each to offset costs of participating in approved Yiddish programs. Priority is given to undergraduate students returning in Autumn semester. The award is contingent on acceptance to the academic program and Ohio State approval of student travel if the program is located abroad. Students should email the Melton Center for a current list of approved Yiddish programs.
Open to Ohio State University students who are accepted to a Yiddish language or Jewish Studies study-abroad program. Priority is given to students demonstrating financial need.
Applicants must have an approved Yiddish study-abroad program and OSU travel approval. Awards are contingent on acceptance to the academic program and OSU's student travel approval for international programs.
