Driver Education Initiative Award

The Driver Education Initiative Award is a triannual scholarship that awards $500 to each of two essay contest winners per cycle, totaling $10,000 per year across all cycles. It is sponsored by DmvEdu.org to promote awareness of safe driving practices and the importance of driver education. The scholarship is open to students from the U.S. and Canada of any nationality. Applications are accepted throughout the year with rolling triannual deadlines.

Open to current college students and college-bound high school students who are U.S. citizens, Canadian citizens, permanent residents, DACA recipients, or international students. There are no GPA requirements, and the scholarship is open to students of all majors.

Applicants must submit an essay of no less than 750 words in Microsoft Word format addressing a specific prompt related to impaired driving and driver education. Three scholarship cycles are offered each year (January-March, May-August, September-November). Two recipients are selected per cycle.
