The Zonta Young Women in Public Affairs Scholarship (now known as the Zonta Young Women in Leadership Award) recognizes young women who show leadership potential in public life and community service. Zonta International offers 37 international awards of $5,000 each year to support the next generation of women leaders globally. Applications open through local Zonta clubs each year; interested applicants should contact their nearest club.
Women aged 16-19 on April 1st each year, living in a Zonta district or who are citizens of a Zonta country, who demonstrate active commitment to volunteerism, experience in local government, student government, or workplace leadership (paid or unpaid), volunteer leadership achievements, knowledge of Zonta International and its programs, and support for Zonta International's mission. Club members and Zonta International employees are not eligible. Previous recipients are not eligible to renew.
Applications must be initiated through a local Zonta club; club-level deadlines vary by location. Applicants must demonstrate volunteer leadership achievements and knowledge of Zonta International's mission.
