About

An annual multilevel essay competition where club winners advance to district contests to compete for $2,500 scholarships. 2025–26 topic: 'How My Acts of Service Help Me Understand What My Community Means to Me.' Open to students across North America including Canada.

Eligibility

Students under age 19 as of October 1 of the current contest year who have not yet completed secondary school, including CEGEP students in Quebec, Canada.

Requirements

Write an essay on the assigned topic and submit to a local Optimist Club; club winners advance to district competition; contact programs@optimist.org to find a local club.
