The Charlotte Susan Roth Memorial Fund Essay Contest honors the memory of Charlotte Roth by recognizing excellence in Jewish Studies scholarship at Ohio State University. First-place prizes of $750 and second-place prizes of $500 are awarded in both the undergraduate and graduate categories. The contest is administered by the Melton Center for Jewish Studies and is open each academic year.
Open to any currently enrolled undergraduate or graduate student at The Ohio State University who has written a paper on a topic related to Jewish Studies. No minimum GPA is specified.
Applicants must submit an essay of no fewer than 1,500 words on any aspect of Jewish Studies including Bible, language, literature, history, philosophy, sociology, culture, or rabbinics. Separate prize categories exist for undergraduate and graduate students.
