EAA Flight Training Scholarships are administered by the EAA Aviation Foundation to help aspiring pilots cover the cost of flight training, from private pilot certificates to advanced ratings. The Foundation awards over $487,000 in flight training scholarships annually across multiple named awards, with individual grants typically ranging from $2,500 to $5,000. Recipients are notified in March following the December application deadline. Applications open annually on October 1.
Open to individuals who are citizens or residents of the United States or Canada (or eligible to study/work there). Applicants must be at least 16 years old. EAA members and active EAA chapter members receive priority consideration. A minimum 2.5 GPA is required for student applicants.
Applications are submitted through the EAA Foundation's Kaleidoscope portal between October 1 and December 19. Applicants must specify which flight training goals the scholarship would support. Scholarships may be used at any flight training school in the U.S. or Canada that is not a university program.
