Created to commemorate Mon Sheong Foundation's 50th anniversary. Awarded annually to 2 Ontario secondary school or CEGEP graduates who demonstrate academic excellence, community involvement, and a desire to make real change. Each recipient receives $1,000/year for up to 4 years (up to $4,000 total). Judged by professors and scholars. Application deadlines typically occur in early July each year.
Graduating from an Ontario high school or CEGEP with a minimum 80% average in top 6 Grade 12/CEGEP marks. Must be enrolling full-time in a degree or diploma program at a recognized and publicly funded Canadian university or college the following fall. Must be passionate about making a difference. Applicants must be Canadian citizens or permanent residents.
Online application including: completed application form with personal, academic, and volunteer/community experience information; personal statement (max 500 words); relevant report cards (all final report cards with top 6 Grade 12 courses); reference letter (max 2 pages); and Applicant's Declaration and Signature Form. All documents except the form itself must be submitted as a single PDF file.
