The Harriet and Leon Pomerance Fellowship awards $5,000 annually to support a single individual scholarly project focused on Aegean Bronze Age archaeology. It honors Harriet and Leon Pomerance, dedicated patrons of Aegean studies and supporters of the AIA. The fellowship is highly competitive and targets researchers conducting original work in this specialized field. The annual deadline is November 1.
Open to U.S. or Canadian citizens or permanent residents, or individuals actively pursuing an advanced degree at a North American college or university, who are current AIA members at the graduate or professional level. Previous Pomerance Fellows are not eligible to reapply.
All application materials must be submitted in English and received at the AIA by November 1. The proposed project must be an individual scholarly project related to Aegean Bronze Age archaeology. Work must be conducted between July 1 of the award year and June 30 of the following year.
