One or more awards of at least $2,000 each are given to undergraduate students entering or continuing in the JD/JID program or to Indigenous students entering or continuing in the JD program of the Faculty of Law who have demonstrated academic ability together with determination, resilience, contribution and compassion in areas of life such as prior work experience, graduate study, community service, family care, or disability. Preference will be given to students who have lived in Haida Gwaii or Northern BC (the region located in the northern part of the province, between the Yukon and the Northwest Territories in the Canadian North and the Cariboo and Chilcotin in the interior of BC). Approval of the recipients will be made by the Senate Committee on Awards upon the recommendation of the Faculty of Law.
