award_type: entrance. $24,000 stipend + full tuition per year for up to 4 years (effective September 2026). Funding ends at whichever comes first: 4 years after award start or end of fifth year in doctoral program. Auto-designated for holders of CGRS-D, Vanier, Killam, or Li Tze Fong awards.

Eligibility

Domestic and international students; entering first year of PhD, DMA, or MDPhD (continuing students may also qualify); satisfactory academic progress required annually

Requirements

Automatic consideration — all admitted PhD applicants considered by their graduate program; programs nominate via University Award Recommendation Form. Canadian citizens/PR must reapply for Tri-Agency funding annually or forfeit remaining 4YF support.
