About

award_type: entrance and in-program. Master's: $25,000/year plus tuition for up to 2.5 years. Doctoral: $30,000/year plus tuition for up to 4 years. Plus a $5,000 travel allowance over the life of the award. Note: As of May 2026, CGPS Faculty Council approved increased award values for graduate funding. Most USask PhD programs now guarantee a minimum $20,000/year for 4 years for newly admitted PhD students.

Eligibility

Full-time master's or doctoral students; minimum academic average ≥80%; within first 36 months of master's or first 48 months of doctoral program; department nomination required; not all departments participate; Canadian and international students

Nomination only — students cannot apply directly; departments nominate candidates; contact graduate program coordinator for department-specific deadlines and participation; CGPS administers approximately $8.21M in institutional funds annually
